How to Select and Remove errors from excel file ?

Example

The commonly faced problem you face while working on excel sheets is that there exist various excel errors like #N/A,#REF,#NUM,#VALUE, #DIV0 as it can be seen in the table below.

To select and delete all the errors appearing in an excel sheet, follow the steps mentioned below.

Steps

  • Select the columns in the sheet from which you want to remove the error values. In case you want to remove errors appearing in a sheet then no selection is required. 
  •  Goto Home Tab –> Click on Find & Select –> Go To
  • Click on Special and another dialogue box will appear
  • Click on Formulas
  • Only Errors should be selected
  • Click Ok
  • All the cells having errors will be selected
  • Click on “Delete”
  • This will delete the errors from cell.

Important

  • Deleting the selected errors will also delete the formulas or cell references used in that cell.
  • Shortcuts:
  • Go To dialogue box (F5)
  • Special (Alt + S)
  • Formula (F)

  • Use tab and to navigate to items under Formula
  • Use space bar to uncheck the selected items
